On June 7th I suffered a heart attack that landed me in the hospital for a few days. It wasn’t my first heart attack.
During my time in the hospital, I discovered that the heart attack had damaged my aortic valve, necessitating surgery. It won’t be my first open heart surgery, either.
Today, I discovered my kidneys have been compromised, and I have to enter the hospital earlier than I anticipated. I had expected to have been able to complete some of the outstanding projects to which Farthest Star has committed before the surgery, but that’s no longer possible.
I apologize for the delay, but I won’t be able to respond to emails, reply to submissions, or complete the pending Longer Works book projects for at least two weeks. Work should continue as normal after that.
Submissions are still open and ongoing for our Longer Works catalog, and for our second anthology, “Portals, Gateways, and Doors”.
I’m excited for Farthest Star’s future, and I can’t wait to show you what we have planned. See you on the other side!
Also, I’d like to again thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers. Some of you have asked how you can help, and I thank you for that. Despite my killer good looks, I am disabled and living on a fixed income (and the American for-profit healthcare industry is NOT a subject on which you want to get me started).
